Strontian Scouts, diving and more!

We had a great group from Glasgow with us over the weekend, including some of the guys from Blue Hippo Diving. The guys got in some fantastic dives on the big wrecks in the Sound – the Hispania, the Breda, the Thesis and the Shuna.

On Saturday 17th May we had Strontian Scouts, Cubs and Beavers down for a Snorkel Experience day on the beach. We had 26 young people in the water, having their first experience in marine exploration. Despite less than ideal weather, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it seems we have a few budding snorkel prodigies!

The date for our Project Samphire lecture has been confirmed as the 25th of May. The project aims to survey and investigate new wrecks and archaeological targets in western Scotland’s coasts and islands, with 44 new targets being confirmed. The talks are part of the project’s work within the area’s communities.

Everyone is welcome to come along and take part in what will surely be an interesting discussion. Whether you’re interested in diving, history, or archaeology we’d love to see you here on the 25th.
