CCR Normoxic Trimix

The Normoxic CCR Diver course will teach you how to plan and conduct decompression dives on the Inspiration, Evolution or Ouroboros rebreathers, using normoxic trimix as a diluent.

The Normoxic CCR course will allow you to extend your range on the rebreather, as you will be able to dive the unit deeper without the effects of narcosis.

During this course there will be a refresher of manual control of the unit and bailout scenarios from deeper depths and including bailout decompression.

Course length: 5 Days (2 days shore diving and 3 days hardboat diving)

Prerequisites

• CCR Diver
• 100 logged dives, 30 deeper than 27m
• 20 dives and 20 hrs on the specific CCR
• Minimum age 18 years

Qualification Limits

• Decompression diving down to 60m
• Normoxic trimix as diluent

Equipment required

• CCR - Inspiration, Evolution or Ouroboros
• Bailout cylinder and regulator - minimum 7ltr
• Bailout decompression cylinder and regulator – minimum 7ltr
• SMB and reel
• Appropriate exposure protection and all necessary diving equipment for the environment

Equipment requirements

All gases required for the course are included in the course cost and will be mixed by qualified personnel at the Lochaline Dive Centre gas station and shop. A Land Rover shuttle service from the gas station to the shore/ accommodation is provided.

Although you can hire some equipment for these courses it is advised that you have your own since it is better if you can complete the course in the equipment that you are actually going to use when you go diving.

Equipment required for Lochaline Dive Centre courses is as follows:

All technical diver training programmes

• Exposure protection - UK - Dry Suit, preferably crushed neoprene or membrane
• Twinset - preferably with isolating manifold, or independent cylinders (except CCR course)
• 2 primary regulators - one with a 2m long hose attached (except CCR course)
• Dive Computer
• Back up depth, time and decompression information
• Fins
• Mask
• Compass
• Surface alert device - whistle
• 2 cutting devices - preferably knife and another type
• Main torch - preferably umbilical
• Backup torch
• Main reel - approximately 50m of line
• Backup reel
• Orange SMB
• Yellow SMB
• Slate and Pencil
