CCR Diver

Closed Circuit Rebreather diving offers a warmer, quieter and longer dive experience. For those who want to get closer to nature, or those who want to remain in the water longer with out having to use a heavy twinset.

The CCR Diver course focuses on all of the bailout options that diving a Closed Circuit Rebreather give you. Unlike open circuit where if something fails it tends to be obvious with a CCR there are many problems that are not so obvious. This course will prepare you to begin diving with the Inspiration, Evolution or Ouroboros rebreather.

Course length: 5 Days ( 2 days shore diving and 3 days hardboat diving)

Prerequisites

• Advanced Nitrox/Recreational trimix diver
• Minimum age 18 years

Qualification Limits

• No stop diving down to 42m
• Recreational trimix users may use recreational trimixtures with their units

Equipment required

• CCR - Evolution, Inspiration or Ouroboros
• Bail out cylinder and regulator
• SMB and reel
• Appropriate exposure protection and all necessary diving equipment for the environment

Equipment requirements

All gases required for the course is included in the course cost and will be mixed by qualified personnel at the Lochaline Dive Centre gas station and shop. A landrover shuttle service from the gas station to the shore/ accommodation is provided.

Although you can hire some equipment for these courses it is advised that you have your own since it is better if you can complete the course in the equipment that you are actually going to use when you go diving.

Equipment required for Lochaline Dive Centre courses is as follows:

All technical diver training programs

• Exposure protection - UK - Dry Suit preferably crushed neoprene or membrane
• Twin Set - preferably with isolating manifold, or independent cylinders (except CCR course)
• 2 primary regulators - one with a 2m long hose attached (except CCR course)
• Dive Computer
• Back up depth, time and decompression information
• Fins
• Mask
• Compass
• Surface alert devise - whistle
• 2 cutting devises - preferably knife and another type
• Main torch - preferably umbilical
• Backup torch
• Main reel - approximately 50m of line
• Backup reel
• Orange SMB
• Yellow SMB
• Slate and Pencil
