It’s a been a busy 2 weeks here at Lochaline Dive Centre, with three clubs up diving some great sites in the Sound of mull.
Strathclyde University Sub Aqua Club came up and made good use of both our dive boats Sound Diver & Sound Diver II and got in a good mix of wreck and scenic dives.
The group stayed in the Old Post Office accommodation at the dive centre, making use of the full house and self catering kitchen for their trip.
Burghead Sub Aqua Club came down to the West Coast from Elgin for successful weekend’s diving on Sound Diver II, getting in dives on the Rondo, the Shuna, Calve Island and a scallop dive. The club were staying in the dive centre’s Visit Scotland four-star rated activity accommodation and enjoyed being fully catered for, with Annabel’s curry getting rave reviews!
Bolton Area Divers chartered Sound Diver for a very successful day’s diving despite the less than ideal weather. The group were picked up in Dunstaffnage marina, and first site on the agenda was the Shuna. The group enjoyed a great dive on one of the most famous wrecks in the Sound, and then headed for lunch in Lochaline.
The plan after lunch was to dive the Thesis, however the weather was not ideal and there was a lot of doubt whether it would be possible.
After a lot of deliberation the divers got kitted up and thanks to skipper Simon everyone had a brilliant dive on another of the big wrecks in the Sound.
Thanks to all the divers and hope to see you all again soon!
We’re now looking forward to Sheffield Sub Aqua Club coming up on Thursday 17th for what will hopefully be another successful 3 days diving in the amazing Sound of Mull.
