Nottingham Trent University Dive Club are currently packing up after a fantastic six-day dive trip with us here at Lochaline Dive Centre.
The divers managed to time their trip just right to enjoy some of the best weather we’ve seen so far this year in the Sound of Mull.
The group of 24 had divers of all experience levels and qualifications, and everyone was able to enjoy great dives on some of the best wrecks in the UK.
Of the 24, seven were trainees when they arrived and four are now Ocean Divers. Nine are Sports Divers and the group had eight Dive Leaders – two of which are Open Water Instructors and three are Assistant Instructors.
Making use of Lochaline Dive Centre’s fully equipped dive boat Sound Diver II, the group ticked off a good number of classic dives here in the Sound of Mull, including the Hispania, the Shuna, the Thesis, the Breda, the Ballista, Ardtornish Bay and some scenic dives around the moorings in Lochaline, where divers brought back a ton of scallops.
The group were praising the diving in the Sound, particularly the Breda and for the more qualified divers the Hispania. The fact that the less experienced divers of the group – some of divers only began their pool based training in October 2013 – were able to dive on some real, quality wreck dives made for an enjoyable and rewarding trip for everyone.
The group stayed in Lochaline Dive Centre’s four-star Visit Scotland rated activity accommodation, and made use of the dive centre’s self-catering kitchen and social area for their meals and post-dive parties.
Thanks to Nottingham Trent University Dive Club and we hope to see them all again soon!
