The Scapa Flow Wrecks website launched earlier this year – www.scapaflowwrecks.com – boasts a number of excellent features, including the world’s first iPad compatible 3D tours of some of the most famous shipwrecks from World War 2.
Comprehensive dive guides, history sections written by local archaeological experts and historians and interactive maps complete the most ambitious wreck mapping project undertaken to date.
The venture was spearheaded by the Scapa Flow Landscape Partnership and the website was designed and developed by 3 Deep Media, part of the Fourth Element group. Mark’s company ADUS (www.adus-uk.com) contributed multibeam sonar data to the project which was used to assist creation of the 3D interpretations of the wrecks.
Perhaps a similar resource would be well received for the Sound of Mull wrecks?
