Situated in the small village of Lochaline, 44 miles west of Fort William on the West Coast of Scotland, our mainland position right on the Sound of Mull offers a unique get-away-from-it-all location. Staying with us you will have easy access to the clear waters of the Sound, which boasts some of Britain’s best-known wreck dives, in addition to an abundance of drift, shallow, scenic, and shore dive sites. The Centre also offers access to some of the most beautiful and tranquil scenery in Scotland, with an abundance of local wildlife.
There are two properties available for accommodation – the refurbished Lochaline Dive Centre Lodge, which can cater for groups of up to 24 persons in ensuite rooms with underfloor heating and the Old Post Office, which sleeps 10 and is ideal for smaller groups and the training courses run by the Centre (we currently offer both the full range of PADI training courses, and a range of technical diver courses). Both properties have large communal areas, allowing groups to socialise and plan activities. All linen and towels are inclusive.
We are now offering try dives every Sunday £30 per person includes all kit. Guided Dives are now also available through the Centre.
Dive boat charter
The Dive Centre has two dive charter vessels on offer: Sound Diver, a spacious 12.5m Offshore 125 fitted out for diving with deep benches onboard, a compressor and a hydraulic diver lift at the stern, and new for 2012 season Sound Diver II which is a very stable, beamy 10m Blyth catarmaran with a brand new extra wide hydraulic diver lift at the stern.
The Centre can supply air (to 300 bar), nitrox and trimix (on request), and has a number of moorings suitable for small dive boats, which are free of charge to residents.
A la carte evening menu
The Centre offers catering for residents: cooked breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals, plus the O2 Café, where you can relax with a coffee or a snack. Full self catering facilities are also available.
